Getzit/Mishoomis James Misquart
is the newest member of the Getzidjig Advisory Council (Elders’ Council) and was appointed in 2021 to represent the Superior region as their Elder.  In his own community and throughout the Superior region, James MC’s Pow-wows and can be called upon to provide spiritual teachings.  James deeply follows the 7 Grandfather teachings and always encourages our people to look after one another.  He also reminds us to take good care of our mental health and physical health which are much needed reminders during these uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic.  James always offers his wisdom, support and carries a song wherever he goes. We are so pleased and honoured to work with him and learn from him as he graciously shares his gifts with all of us to further strengthen the Anishinabek Nation and our mission of Ngo Dwe Waangizid Anishinabek.
