Wasa-Nabin Wednesdays is now paused for the summer. Our last session of the school year was on June 26.

Have a great summer and see you in September!

Wasa-Nabin Wednesdays is a hands-on cultural program for Indigenous youth 13-18 to gain experience with Indigenous arts, crafts, tools and activities. Facilitators will be brought in to guide programming and teach about cultures from across Turtle Island.

Indigenous YOUTH 13 to 18 years old are invited to explore topics that are relevant to them throughout the
seasons through cultural and artistic activities that may include:

  • arts and crafts (beading, sewing, mask-making, painting, illustration, origami, etc.)
  • music (learning traditional songs, creating songs, playing hand drum, rattle, other instruments)
  • cooking (and eating)
  • storytelling
  • on-the-land and nature-based activities (hiking, gardening, harvesting, fishing, etc.)

Let us know what interests you! What would you really love to do?
Supper is provided (and bus tickets if needed).
New and returning youth are encouraged to join!
Elders/knowledge keepers will visit from time to time to share their gifts and wisdom.

Time: 4:30 to 6:30 pm
Location: Youth House, 275 Bradley Ave. (backyard, weather permitting)

We hope you can join us!

Wabano programs are for First Nation, Inuit and Métis community members only. If a program is open to the general public, it will be specified. With open programs that have limited space, priority will be first given to Indigenous registrants.
