Join us for a full-day On-the-Land Nature Walk as we visit the Dominion Arboretum and Fletcher’s Wildlife Garden to explore late fall bird migration in the Ottawa region. This guided outing will take us on foot through a rich living collection of trees and plant species from around the world, while we pause to observe, listen, learn, and spend time with the winged relatives who are preparing to move south for winter. Together, we will slow down, take in the land, and connect with the teachings that come from being in relationship with the natural world.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to identify different late-season migrants, explore a variety of ecological habitats, and deepen their personal land-based knowledge through observation, awareness, and environmental connection. Binoculars will be available to borrow for anyone who needs them — no prior experience with birding or nature walks is required to attend.
This event is for members of the community with proof of ancestry or kinship connection. Registration is required.
