Have you read the Share Your Story report and feel helpless? Disheartened? As Canadians, it’s our job to hold our political leaders accountable for their actions – and their inactions. Wabano and the OAC have challenged Ontario’s political party leaders – Doug Ford, Andrea Horwath, Steven Del Duca, and Mike Schreiner – to sign a declaration to make Indigenous health a priority and put an end to racism.
And not one of them has signed.
Let’s mobilize together and make our voices heard. Email party leaders and demand that they pay attention. This may be a regional study, but it’s a provincial and national problem.
How to reach the leaders:
Doug Ford – premier@ontario.ca
Andrea Horwath – ahorwath-qp@ndp.on.ca
Steven Del Duca – info.leader@ontarioliberal.ca
Mike Schreiner – mschreiner@ola.org

SUBJECT: End Racism in Ontario Health Care – I’m a voter and I’m demanding ACTION
Dear NAME,
On May 25th, the Ottawa Aboriginal Coalition released a report entitled, “Share Your Story: Indigenous-Specific Racism & Discrimination in Health Care Across the Champlain Region”. The report showed that anti-Indigenous racism is too common in health care, and Indigenous people are suffering – even dying – because of it.
With the report came a challenge from the OAC to sign a declaration that commits to making Indigenous health equity a priority and putting an end to racism in the health care system.
Reconciliation isn’t words – reconciliation is action. Are you going to take action, or are you going to continue to do nothing?
I am a voter, and I am demanding action. Sign the declaration.
Sincerely,
NAME
