Wabano would like to extend a heartfelt chi-miigwetch to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their generous funding, which has enabled us to develop the land we purchased for our on-the-land programming. With their support, we have built safe access to the three yurts, which are elevated over two feet off the ground, and constructed and installed a 20×20 pavilion and a 16×28 pavilion. Additionally, we have added two outhouses and drilled a well with a traditional hand pump. We have also been able to carry out maintenance, excavate the spaces for the pavilions, and remove hazardous trees identified near the structures.
