Join us as we welcome the autumn season with an evening of community, good food, song, and teachings. We are honoured to welcome respected Mohawk Elder Tom Porter (Kanien’kehá:ka), who will share Haudenosaunee teachings on the significance of the autumn equinox, when day and night come into balance. Through these teachings, participants will reflect on our relationship with Creation, the changing seasons, and our shared responsibility to live in harmony with one another and the natural world.
The evening will also feature traditional Haudenosaunee songs shared by Rhonda Doxtator and Maggie Downer, followed by a community feast. We invite First Nations, Inuit, and Métis community members to gather in celebration of the changing season, to learn together, and to welcome autumn in a spirit of gratitude, balance, and community.
