On-the-Land Nature Walk: Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers in Gatineau Park

Location: Gatineau Park P11 (O’Brien) – Discovery Trail
(Exact meeting point provided upon registration)
This family-friendly event is for members of the community with proof of Indigenous ancestry or kinship connection.
Wabano invites you to join us for an unforgettable day of Indigenous cultural education and on-the-land learning as we explore the Discovery Trail at Gatineau Park P11 (O’Brien). This outing is a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with nature, discover local wildlife, and learn about the land’s cultural significance.
We will enjoy a guided nature walk focused on spring ephemeral wildflowers – the rare, beautiful blooms that appear for only a few weeks each year before the forest canopy fills in. Along the way, we will also encounter birds on their spring migration, so bring your cameras and binoculars if you have them.
Please note: This hike involves walking up moderate hills. This event is best suited for those who are physically fit and able to walk uphill comfortably.
