On-the-Land Nature Walk: Land Springs to Life in Marlborough Forest

This event is for members of the community with proof of Indigenous ancestry or kinship connection. Wabano invites you to join us for a day of connection and renewal as we explore the Marlborough Forest on Sunday, May 17, 2026. The land is waking up—witness vibrant wildflowers, listen for returning birds, and feel the forest pulse with new life. This gentle guided nature walk offers quiet reflection, learning about local plants, and sharing in the spirit of the season. We may have the chance to spot the rare Ram’s Head Lady Slipper orchid, which should be in bloom during our visit. Rubber boots may be helpful if you have a pair to bring. Dress for the weather, bring water and curiosity. A light lunch will be provided.
Destination: Marlborough Forest (Parking E2). Vans depart from Wabano at 10:00 AM. Space in the vans is limited. Registrants will indicate whether they plan to ride in our vans or drive themselves.
