On-the-Land Nature Walk: Early Spring Migration along Kitiji Sziibi

Join us for a day of connection, reflection, and birdwatching as we explore the shores of Kitiji Sziibi (the Great Ottawa River) during the height of early spring migration. Depending on weather and wildlife activity, we will visit a selection of significant sites, including:

  • Remic Rapids Park
  • Akikojiwan (Sacred Indigenous Ceremonial Site)
  • Britannia Conservation Area
  • Lac Deschênes Important Bird Area (IBA)
  • Bate Island
  • Ottawa River Pathway
  • Deschênes Rapids Park

We hope to see early migrants such as eagles, hawks, waterfowl (ducks and geese), and early passerines. This is a van trip with limited space—if you are able to drive yourself, please do so and indicate that on the registration page.
