Please join us for an evening of storytelling, and songs with elder Jim Mishquart from Rocky Bay First Nation. Jim is an Ojibwe storyteller and song carrier and will be taking us on a journey of the ancient tradition of oral storytelling.

He will also provide teachings on women’s songs so that those songs can be carried and shared by others.

Bring your drums if you want to learn new songs or just come and and enjoy the evening!

All welcome.

 Monday, April 7 Culture Night:

Elder Jim Mishquart will share stories on peace keeping:

  • How the Haudenosaunee gave the wampum belt to the Ojibwa and how we made peace together
  • How the Sioux gave 7 drums to the Ojibwa as a peace offering
  • The big dipper has 7 star that represent the 7 Grandfather Teachings and this will guide us how to walk in this life

Also Tuesday April 8th we have our storytelling event with Jim Mishquart  from 5:30pm – 7:00pm, https://wabano.com/event/jim-mishquart-a-night-of-storytelling-and-songs/
