Ice Fishing with Frank for Indigenous Youth 13 to 18 yrs old
PA DAY, Friday JANUARY 31, 2025
Join us to learn all about the art of ice fishing with Frank, our very own expert fisherman from the Néhiyaw Nation!
No experience required! Frank will guide you through all aspects of jigging for a big pike, a pickerel or maybe even a sturgeon on the mighty Kichi Sibi (Ottawa river). With a bit of luck, you’ll also learn how to prepare the fish for cooking.

Details:
• Date & Time: meet at Wabano’s Youth House, 275 Bradley Ave at 11 am – return by 4 pm
• Fishing location: Pêche blanche Gatineau, 540 ch. de Montreal O., Gatineau (Masson-Anger)
• All equipment, lunch, snacks and hot chocolate provided!
• Ice fishing cabin with wood stove to warm up
• No fishing license required
• Cell phone use ok for photos during the activity
• Wabano will not be responsible if your cell phone falls in the fishing hole.
What to Bring:
• Dress warmly as we’ll be outdoors all afternoon: snowpants, a tuque, mittens or gloves and a warm coat are needed.
• A reusable water bottle
• Let us know if you need any gear—we may be able to help out!
