Parents and caregivers are invited to join us for an informative session focused on supports available for Indigenous youth and families in the education and justice systems.

Kris Meawasige Team Manager of Indigenous Education, with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, will share information and answer questions about the supports available for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students and families, including Indigenous-focused programs, cultural learning opportunities, and the dedicated staff who help students succeed and feel a strong sense of belonging in school.

The session will also include a presentation from Alexandra and Steven of the Youth Justice Team at Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health, who will provide an overview of programs that support Indigenous youth navigating the justice system. Topics will include Diversion, Reintegration, and Youth in Transition, and how these services help youth move forward in positive ways.

This session is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn more about available supports, ask questions, and connect with community resources.
