This week, meet us at Dow’s Lake by 5 pm to see the tulips and the Upcycle Art Exhibition! We’ll meet by the Cubeit Info booth #14 on the map (near washrooms #15 on and ArtEast #16) along Carling ave.
We’ll be there at 4:30 and wait for everyone to arrive. At 5 pm we’ll go to our picnic spot (we’ll bring a picnic supper) and then tour the exhibition together – please make sure to bring your filled water bottle, and wear weather appropriate clothes and comfortable walking shoes!
Please register ahead, as we’ll need to send a consent form for your parent or guardian to fill out ahead if you’re under 18.
Looking forward to seeing many youth!
It’s Spring! Indigenous YOUTH 13 to 18 years old are invited to join us as we celebrate more daylight each day, the return of birds and Thunderbirds, new growth, new projects and overall, a refreshed vision of the world!
We’ll explore topics that are relevant to youth throughout the seasons through cultural and artistic activities that may include:
-arts and crafts (beading, sewing, mask-making, painting, illustration, origami, etc.)
-music (learning traditional songs, creating songs, playing hand drum, rattle, other instruments)
-cooking (and eating)
-on-the-land and nature-based activities (hiking, gardening, harvesting, fishing, etc.)
Let us know what interests you! What would you really love to do?
Supper is provided (and bus tickets if needed).
New and returning youth are encouraged to join!
Elders/knowledge keepers may visit from time to time to share their gifts and wisdom.
