Hoop Dance Workshop with Champion Hoop Dancer Beany John

Join us for an inspiring evening of movement, culture, and storytelling with champion hoop dancer Beany John. Following the popularity of our Hoop Making Workshop, this second session focuses on learning the art of hoop dancing itself—guided by Beany’s skill, brilliance, and powerful teachings.

Beany, known for her dynamic performances at the Wabano Gala and for sharing her gifts across Turtle Island, brings deep cultural knowledge and an uplifting teaching style that welcomes participants of all experience levels.

Through this workshop, participants will explore the history and teachings of the hoop dance, learn foundational 3‑hoop dance combinations, and experience a live performance and storytelling that connects movement, identity, and tradition.

What to Expect

This workshop is for Indigenous community members only as a part of our commitment to helping with cultural reclamation and healing.   First priority will be the participants who are in the Hoop making on March 10 encourage people to sign up for both.
