Position Summary
As the Indigenous Health Records and Referral Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate health records, managing referrals, and ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care for our clients. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, community partners, and Indigenous families to support positive health outcomes through efficient coordination and culturally respectful service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and organizing electronic health records in compliance with PHIPA
- Coordinating referrals to specialists, hospitals, and allied health providers
- Tracking and following up on referrals to ensure continuity of care
- Supporting clinic flow with administrative duties as needed
- Maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and cultural safety
- Working collaboratively with Indigenous clients and health teams in a trauma-informed, respectful manner
Key Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Health Office Administration or Medical Office Assistant (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in a medical, Indigenous, or community health setting
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (e.g., PS Suite, Telus Health)
- Knowledge of PHIPA and confidentiality protocols
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Understanding of Indigenous health systems and barriers to care
- Lived experience or knowledge of Indigenous culture is a strong asset
Language Requirements
- English required
- Indigenous language is a strong asset

Salary $58,000 to $60,000 per year plus a competitive benefits package
